Role overview

Through Brandstof, you will work as a student worker at KinderRijk alongside your studies. You will discover what working in childcare is like, join different locations, and help create a pleasant, safe environment in which children can develop as well as possible. You can help toddlers make new discoveries and organise sports and craft activities for children at the BSO, so the daily work is varied.

The daily work

  • Guide children through their daily steps and development, from toddlers to children at the BSO.
  • Think of, prepare and run enjoyable, educational sports and craft activities.
  • Encourage play, discovery, movement and learning in a safe, positive environment.
  • Work with an enthusiastic, experienced team and learn from experienced pedagogical colleagues.
  • Work across different, dynamic KinderRijk locations in Amsterdam and Amstelveen.

Pay and support

Brandstof offers a gross hourly wage of € 18,56, including 8% holiday allowance, plus an 8% year-end bonus. The contract runs from 8 to 36 hours per week, and working at least 12 hours per week is required. For travel to the locations, you receive travel-cost reimbursement or full public-transport reimbursement. The role provides valuable practical experience alongside your studies and personal guidance from experienced KinderRijk pedagogical colleagues. Brandstof also offers free participation in practical training and open workshops, so you can strengthen your skills and expand your network.

What you bring

  • You follow a relevant hbo programme, such as Pedagogy, PABO or SPH, have been admitted to the third year with at least 50% of your study credits, or hold a qualifying mbo-3/mbo-4 childcare diploma.
  • You are available for at least 12 hours per week.
  • You are comfortable travelling between the different locations in Amsterdam and Amstelveen.
  • You have the 'Werken met Baby's' certificate if you want to work in a day-care centre, or you are motivated to obtain it.
