Part-Time Legal Counsel

GVB is looking for a senior legal counsel for a part-time role in its Legal Affairs department. New projects and collaborations call for clear contractual arrangements between parties with different interests. You will map the legal framework and translate it into clear advice that colleagues can act on, working closely with the business, executive management, management and project teams.

What you will do

• Advise the organisation on diverse legal questions arising in daily practice, test decisions by executive management and management against laws and regulations, and ensure the legal side of operations is sound.
• Draft, review and negotiate cooperation agreements, general terms and conditions, and public-transport-related product terms and conditions.
• Advise on privacy questions, including in large and complex projects, and draft and review data-processing agreements.
• Review communications such as promotional terms and conditions.
• Assess GVB's legal position in disputes and manage proceedings together with external lawyers.
• Advise on cross-organisational projects involving multiple parties and interests.
• Monitor developments in laws and regulations and translate them for the organisation.

You work on complex questions, quickly identify the core issue, weigh interests and provide advice colleagues can use directly.

What you bring

• You have completed a degree in Dutch law and have at least six years of relevant work experience.
• You have knowledge of and experience with, among other areas, obligations and contract law, privacy law and consumer law. Knowledge of ICT law is an advantage.

What you can expect

• A salary between € 4.929,- and € 6.819,- gross per month (scale 11A), based on 36 hours, depending on education and experience.

Your team

You will work in the Legal Affairs department. This team advises executive management, management and the business on legal areas ranging from procurement and contract law to tenancy law, construction law and privacy, and sometimes on niche legal areas for GVB. The team is a small group of legal professionals. You generally work independently, while collaborating closely and sharing knowledge when needed. You also work extensively with colleagues from other disciplines and external parties.
