Part-Time Security Officer – Antoni van Leeuwenhoek Hospital

About the role

Workrate is looking for a part-time security officer at the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek hospital (AVL) in Amsterdam. You will help protect patients, visitors and employees and contribute to a safe, welcoming environment. The position is for 8 to 16 hours per week.

What you will do

• Respond quickly and professionally to incidents and emergencies.
• Help maintain a safe working environment for staff and visitors.
• Monitor the site using cameras and carry out patrols.
• Prepare reports in Workrate's systems.
• Walk frequently during your duties.
• Handle reception tasks, including answering the telephone professionally, welcoming visitors and acting as the first point of contact.

What you bring

• A Security Officer 2 diploma.
• Excellent Dutch and good English.
• A solution-focused attitude, an eye for detail and a professional, alert, representative and service-oriented manner.
• Strong communication skills, independence, teamwork and a hospitality mindset.
• Digital skills, an organised approach and flexibility in your availability.
• Willingness to work mainly night shifts, supplemented by evening, day and weekend services.

Pay and benefits

• €17,36–€21 per hour, excluding allowances.
• An evening allowance of 10%, a night-shift allowance of 20% and a weekend allowance of 35%.
• 25 days of holiday based on full-time employment.
• Travel allowance in accordance with the collective labour agreement.
• Career progression opportunities towards team leader or manager.
• An annual periodic salary increase.
• A BHV course.
• A 1-year employment contract with the prospect of a permanent contract.
