As a part-time delivery driver at Jumbo, you drive a comfortable automatic delivery van with air conditioning and heating and deliver groceries to customers' homes. Customer friendliness is important: the customer is always your top priority, and you are expected to go the extra mile.
You start your delivery day with colleagues at the warehouse (HUB) in Amsterdam. You check that the van is clean and correctly loaded, collect your tablet, navigation and payment device, and deliver the orders. You also take returnable packaging back and tidy everything up afterwards. A personal touch, such as a handwritten card when someone is celebrating a birthday, can make an impression.
To start, you need:
- A category B driving licence held for at least 6 months
- Good command of Dutch or English
- Plenty of energy to work in your delivery area
Shifts include 6:00–15:00, 15:00–23:00 and/or 17:15–23:00.
The role offers:
- Gross pay from €14,99 per hour for people aged 21 or older
- 24 days of holiday, 8% holiday allowance and 3 hours of ATV each week, based on a 40-hour working week
- Freedom at work: you are in charge of your own automatic, air-conditioned van
- Additional payments, including an allowance for working between 22:00 and 06.00 and on public holidays, travel expenses and a meal allowance
- 10% discount on groceries, paid through your salary, plus additional benefits in the Jumbo Extra's app
- Additional compensation for referring new colleagues
- Opportunities to progress, for example to senior delivery driver, planner or team leader
- A personal development budget and targeted training and courses through the Jumbo Academy
- The possibility of following a training programme to become a truck driver
- Extras such as a bicycle plan, a discount on fuel at BP, collective health insurance and discounts at various shops and on clothing, electronics, outings and more
