As a parcel delivery driver at PostNL, you start at the sorting centre by checking your route, loading the van and arranging the parcels so they are easy to find. You deliver parcels to homes and businesses and represent PostNL during the delivery.
You work during the day and spend about 7 to 8 hours on the road. You drive relatively few kilometres, frequently get in and out of the van and work outdoors. At the end of your shift, you return the van and hand in parcels you could not deliver.
Working days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday, with working days agreed in consultation.
You must be able to work independently, be reliable, support colleagues and remain calm under pressure and setbacks. You must speak Dutch and/or English, be at least 18 years old, hold a valid driving licence that allows you to drive in the Netherlands, have at least 3 months of driving experience, be fit and strong enough to lift light and heavy parcels, and be able to provide a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG).
- A 7-month contract; after that, a permanent contract may be possible if you perform well.
- A salary of €2,557 per month based on a full-time working week, an hourly wage of €14.99, and €16.19 per hour including holiday allowance. Holiday allowance is paid annually in May. Hours worked on Saturday receive a 40% allowance.
- A contribution to your pension from 18 years old.
- Travel expense reimbursement.
- Five weeks of holiday per year for a full-time job.
- Payment of overtime or the option to save it for additional days off.
