Good to know before applying
For students based in Amsterdam studying at the UvA, VU, or HvA, securing an early morning shift offers the perfect way to free up the rest of your day for lectures and social activities. If you live around De Pijp, Leidseplein, or the canal belt, getting to Amsterdam Central is incredibly quick, making the direct train connection to Utrecht Centraal highly convenient for an early start.
Since the shift must be completed by 11:00 AM, you can easily finish your work, hop back on the train, and be back in Amsterdam in time for afternoon seminars or study sessions at the university library. This setup is particularly attractive for international students because the role is English-friendly and requires no Dutch language skills. Working in a team of two or three also makes it possible to sign up with your university friends, allowing you to share the commute and work together. Balancing a part-time job with a busy academic schedule at VU or UvA is much easier when your work hours do not clash with standard class times, leaving your evenings completely free to enjoy the city.
